HEʻE Planning Meeting, Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 9:00-11:00am at The Learning Coalition (Validated Parking at Harbor Court Parking Garage, 66 Queen Street. See map here.)
Mahalo to those who came to the June 13, 2017 Planning Meeting and participated in a robust discussion about the School Report Card and the State’s Consolidated Plan for the Every Student Succeeds Act (“ESSA”). HEʻE submitted testimony in support of the Stateʻs Plan, which is listed here. The Board of Education voted to approve the ESSA Plan at the June 20, 2017 General Business Meeting. Because we were focused on the School Report Card and the ESSA Plan at the June 13 Planning Meeting, we did not have time to discuss HEʻE’s website. Therefore, we would like to have a dialogue at the July 11, 2017 Planning Meeting about updating our website to reflect our work now. Please review the following websites of national advocacy organizations to see if we may get some ideas. Stand for Children, stand.org is an organization whose mission is to ensure that all children, regardless of their background, graduate from high school prepared for, and with access to, college or career training. Alliance for Excellent Education, http://all4ed.org/about/ is a group whose mission is to make every child graduate. Please contact cheri@heecoalition.org. if you can make it!
